Demo article for testing the Learn hub. Popcorn’s educators will replace it with a real article before launch.
A new place and a new group can feel like a lot for a quiet child. A few small steps before the first day can make it feel more familiar.
Before the first day
- Talk through what the day will look like, from arrival to pick-up.
- Agree on a short, warm goodbye you will use every morning.
- Tell the camp team what helps your child feel at ease.
On the day
Arrive a little early, when the room is calmer. Keep the goodbye short and kind, and tell your child exactly when you will be back.
Afterwards, ask about one thing they enjoyed rather than whether they made friends. Settling in takes time, and that is fine.
